Need Statement

In 2006, women held 51% of professional occupations in the U.S. workforce, but held only 26% of professional IT-related occupations. Only 13% of corporate officer positions at Fortune 500 technology companies were held by women. -- National Center for Women & Information Technology (2007). "By the Numbers."

The heart of what we do at Girlstart is to empower and excite girls in math, science, and technology.

Purpose of Dads with Daughters

To engage 25 dads as giving ambassadors in their daughter's future education and growth.

About Dads with Daughters

Participating dads donate $1,000 or more per year to help inspire girls in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

The financial support of the Dads with Daughters program is important to Girlstart's success. Your Dads with Daughters donation of $1,000 or more helps:

• Fund critical programs at Girlstart including After School Clubs, Summer Camps, Saturday Camps, and Community Science and Engineering Events for girls.
• Engage more girls in STEM education and careers.
• Inspire the next generation of girls to become problem solvers in STEM.
• Supply much needed equipment for training and instruction.
