Jennifer Pratt
Jennifer Pratt obtained a BS in chemistry from Texas Lutheran University and completed a PhD in organic chemistry at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Her thesis work involved the synthesis and characterization of organometallic complexes. After graduation, Jennifer worked at Exxon/Infineum’s Linden Technology Center on the formulation of automatic transmission fluids (ATF) and the development of new ATF additives. She then moved to Huntsman’s Austin Research Lab where her first assignment was to provide technical service for various amine and functional fluid products used in metalworking fluids and electronics as well as in various other applications. Jennifer then joined the polyurethane catalyst group at Huntsman where she worked to develop new amine catalysts and catalysts blends for polyurethane applications. Jennifer joined 3M in June of 2006 as a Product Development Specialist. During her time at 3M, she has worked on the development of new FBE and liquid coatings for pipeline and rebar applications and has provided technical support for existing products for the infrastructure coatings market as well as resin products used in the energy and electrical markets.
Jennifer spends most of her time outside of work keeping up with her husband and their two children. She loves volunteering in the community, in particular promoting STEM education via hands-on science activities.
