Homemade Fossils

Have you ever found a fossil on a walk? Have you ever wondered how fossils are created? In this video, you will learn a little bit about the types of fossils. You can also follow along and create your own fossils using items at home or in nature.

Scientific Adventures for Girls (SAfG) is a non-profit located in the Oakland East Bay Area. SAfG’s mission is to remove systemic barriers to all girls’ participation in STEM starting in kindergarten, engage them through hands-on learning, increase their positive attitudes toward STEM, and equip them with 21st century skills. We aim to dismantle these barriers by providing accessible, affordable high-quality hands-on STEM learning to kindergarten through 6th grade girls, with their interests and needs at the center of the program. Our programs spark and build STEM interest through hands-on learning—increasing positive attitudes toward STEM and equipping girls with workforce-ready skills that will empower their economic futures.
