Did you know that only 2% of people write down their goals? At Girlstart, we’re all about cultivating an environment where girls can stand out, find their strengths, and discover new ideas! As the semester winds down, Girlstart students are looking to the future. This week, girls reviewed the semester together and created career clipboards.
To create the clipboards, girls were given ribbons of different colors to tie together. The colorful toppers represented the relationship between middle school, high school, post-secondary education, and family and friends. Club mentors explained that this support system will help girls succeed. Once each girl completed their rainbow ribbon ties, they began to brainstorm their personal goals. To help students with forming goals, mentors referred back to a few careers that were covered during the semester, including marine engineers, ecologists, and environmental scientists. Students decorated their clipboards with various goals they had for middle school, high school, college, and beyond!
At Girlstart, we truly believe in the power of STEM education to develop great female leaders. We are almost at the end of the semester, but our students are only getting started on their path to success!
