Girlstart’s Discovery Green STEM Saturday initiative includes fun hands-on STEM activities that foster general awareness about STEM and encourage children and families to recognize that ‘STEM is everywhere.’

Rope Bridges
Did you know there is a population of orangutans in Malaysia that is in danger of extinction due to deforestation? Explore how rope bridges have provided a temporary solution for this group of orangutans and design your own rope bridge to help these orangutans cross rivers and continue to survive.
To celebrate the moonGARDEN exhibition at Discovery Green (open September 29-October 7), Girlstart will provide a take home activity for kids to explore the relationship between the Sun, the Moon, and the Earth.
