Enjoy starry STEM fun at Girlstart!
Girlstart’s STEM Studio and Mini-Planetarium is a unique space for families to explore astronomy! Starry Nights are held the first Thursday of every month (except January, June, July, August, and December), with each month featuring a new astronomy experience and related hands-on activities. Family members of all ages and genders are welcome.
Enjoy these hands-on STEM activities:
- 3D Pyramids: Discover one of the 7 wonders of the world as you construct a 3D pyramid!
- Stingless Bee Hummer: Learn about vibrations and sounds as you explore the relationship between Honey Bees and the Mayans.
- Mayan Textiles: Practice your fine motor skills as you learn to weave a Mayan textile.
- Crack the code: Challenge yourself to decode a message written in Mayan Hieroglyphs. Will you be the cryptographer that cracks the code?
