Girlstart relies on the generosity of individuals, foundations, and corporations who make gifts of all sizes to help us empower girls in STEM. Whether you choose to support a particular program like After School; a specific region, such as Austin or Houston; or make a multi-year commitment, there are many ways you can give and make a difference at Girlstart. Individual Giving
When you give $500 or more, cumulatively, over the course of the calendar year, you are invited to join our STEM Society, which celebrates the generosity of our individual donors. To learn more about Girlstart’s STEM Society, click here. We also encourage you to consider setting-up a monthly donation, which ensures consistent, dependable support. Here are some other easy ways to enhance your giving:
- Workplace Giving: Many employers have matching gift programs designed to promote charitable giving made by their employees, retirees, and/or employees’ spouses. Some also offer the opportunity to donate via payroll deductions. Contact your employer to see if they offer either of these benefits. Some even match volunteer hours with a monetary donation!
- Donor Advised Funds: If you have this type of investment account–which offers immediate tax relief and allows you to easily support your favorite nonprofits–please request a grant distribution directly from your DAF sponsor for Girlstart (EIN, #31-1595414).
- Stock: Gifts of appreciated securities are a popular and financially savvy way to support nonprofits because they can offer you tax benefits. Austin Community Foundation accepts and processes stock gifts on behalf of Girlstart. To initiate a gift, and get further instructions, please email stock@austincf.org with CC to development@girlstart.org.
- Planned Giving: Click here for more information.

Corporate Sponsorship
We are always looking for corporate partners who share our passion and want to impact the future of STEM. Sponsorships can support the areas of greatest need or specific events or programs. We will work with you to tailor a recognition package to meet your company’s marketing and community impact goals. From Community STEM programs such as the Girls in STEM Conference and Starry Nights to our major annual fundraising event, we look forward to finding the right fit for you!
Endowment Support
Endowments provide perpetual support for a nonprofit, helping to directly fund its staff and programs. Your gift of any size to Girlstart’s endowment is a lasting testament to your belief in our mission and will provide ongoing income for our annual operations for years to come. This kind of long-term financial stability is key to our current programs and future growth.
