Nature Nights are free, family-friendly events filled with exciting explorations of native plants, animals and the ecology of Central Texas. Each evening features interactive presentations, hikes with experts in their fields, and nature crafting for kids of all ages.

In anticipation of Halloween, guests of all ages can: 

  • Learn about nighttime critters, including bats. 
  • Discover whether spiders are pollinators.
  • See what the gardens look light once the sun goes down and more!

Amazing Birds: Explore the adaptations that help birds fly and investigate the wingspans of an albatross, falcon, and vulture. Determine how a bird’s wingspan affects flight and design an Amazing Bird glider that will remain in flight for as long as possible.

Explore regional geography, the life science of plants and animals, and how to explore nature as we feature our new special exhibition Art of Texas State Parks. This exhibition celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Texas State Park System through works of art that highlight the diversity of the landscape of Texas.
