Fifteen IT professionals set out to cut out nearly 43,000 foam squares last Friday at My IT Pros in Austin. The squares will be used to represent buildings and roads to create a hands-on visualization of city planning at Girlstart’s Summer Camp!
Cutting out squares was a simple task, but the efforts of every single employee represented the company’s dedication to seeing more women rise up into the tech industry.
“I think it’s really important to empower young women to know that in a generally male, technology-driven world, it’s possible to do whatever you want to do,” Tiana Lopez, a My IT Pros employee said. “The technology world is constantly changing so it’s a good industry to get involved in from a young age.”
That’s why the company is celebrating its 25th year in business by raising money for Girlstart. So far, they’ve raised over $7,500 to support women in STEM and help send girls to Girlstart Summer Camp!
Girlstart’s mission would not be possible without businesses like My IT Pros who dedicate their time and money to see girls succeed in the tech industry. Thank you, My IT Pros!
